My best fuel-saver was a Kia Niro Hybrid, nothing to charge, almost 1000 km for a tank, quiet refined motoring, what a difference from the old and lovely Skoda 520 km per refuel (same cost)

If u wanna save fuel judt buy a standalone ECU and get your car tuned Re doing the fuel mapping I've seen a few customers come to our buddys shop just for this on a civic SI They managed to make it hold another 50 kms to a full tank

Just drive in the correct gear for the road conditions, in town, don’t race the adjacent car to the next set of traffic lights, which are nearly always on red when you get there, don’t carry loads of junk and heavy tools, tyre compressors etcin the boot and only fill the tank to 50 to reduce the weight of your vehicle
