It always surprises me that most [a good deal] of people don't know you can retire from Social Security @ 62 67 is FRA aka as Full Retirement Age She won't receive as much, but I'm sure around $1600 or around thereof - with COLA every year she won't be in much better place if she retires now vs waiting for 7 more years Only thing is @ 67 you can work as much as you like without contingencies

I really do not understand how people get into this situation! I always led a frugal life, no credit card in the house EVER, my appartment (there are only two units on the plot/ in the house) was paid off at age 28 and I am going to retire at age 63 with a nice nest-egg in various accounts My net-pension will be 1800 € at that point and another one of more than 300€ will start at age 67 The other owner of the house and I plan on doing some upgrades on the house starting next year, all cost accounted for already How was I able to pull this off on a part-time job with having had three kids to raise as a single mom? Never had a car!

My original retirement plan was to retire at 62, work part-time, and save money However, high prices for everything have severely affected my plan I'm concerned if people who went through the 2008 financial crisis had an easier time than I am having now The stock market is worrying me as my income has decreased, and I fear I won't have enough savings for retirement since I can't contribute as much as before
