Low back is ideal but regular sofas don't have place for my drink I need it secure so the bass doesn't spill it if on a table Who wants to add a table in their theater

For me, a high back is a must for a movie watching chair or sofa Like, I want to be able to lay back and relax No neck muscles should be needed :P But I agree that the theatre-style chair are terrible I want to be able to move too, not be forced to face the screen head on all the time I either want a sofa, so I can lean to either side, or a chair that spins Some kind of foot rest is also mandatory

This video is really useful as I've recently converted my garage and I'm looking to use is as a theatre/gaming room To be honest, I've always found seats in a theatre to be really uncomfortable after about an hour or so, and I was thinking if I'd really want a rigid style theatre seat in the room I'm going to look outside the box for a comfortable 3 seater sofa with a recliner option

I have one reason why you'll have to pry my motorized home theater chair out of my cold, dead hands: I need the motorized headrest in order to move my head to the correct position to view the movie out of the distance part of my progressive lenses You'll know what I mean when you get old enough to have to use progressive lenses Sure, I could just sit up straight and I wouldn't have that problem But reclining while watching a movie is the way to go for comfort and support

I definitely agree with the core principles of more traditional furniture with lower backs, but none of these really do it for me Powered recline with the headrest that folds up from flat to meet your head as you recline seems like a way to go Also, cupholders are just a must The stuff from Moffit Home seems pretty good

There is a barn home for sale in New Hope PA for 6 million It originally listed for 8 😂 The theater is in the attic and the front row has 3 sided squared sofa The back row has 4 vintage airline seats Just like the ones you pictured in the video

Who watches movies fully upright anymore? There's a reason why those recliners are in every movie theater--most people don't want to sit in a chair anymore for 2-3 hours I consider myself a minor audiophile and even I wouldn't trade comfort for better surround sound

I am in the middle of building a man cave come cinema and I actually went looking for chairs like he ones everyone uses by with a slender head support I found it baffling (pun intended) that anyone wants a big headrest It makes no sensebrbrGlad to find that others see the same thingbrbrLet's spend 20k on speakers and electronics and literally bugger it up with a bad seat 😂

We went for 2x2 of Natuzzi Baltimora its so comfortable, has a recliner but the head is back by default so you can recline but keep the head clear, so the recliner has an up down, and head has an up and down, so you can sit up or recline, we chose this over cinema seating We were going for a 3 and 2 seater but worked better with 2x2 love this review

I love theater recliners, but I have to be honest, I wish I would have never bought electric recliners Seems like a good idea until the weakest link in the chain (power supply connections) craps out At least with the old mechanical, I can fix it and continue to enjoy the chair My electric chairs constantly want to stop working and it is only a matter of time before they don’t come back to life

The thing is, your surrounds and rear surrounds are supposed to be up high 1 to 2 feet above your head, so the chair does not matter If they are down low, you are doing it wrong

My only problem with the suggestions is I’m 6ft 3 and I have sat on similar sectionals and couches with tiny backs and I can’t stand them The prices except on the discount items you linked are equal to or greater I’d rather buy a much more comfortable item for the same price or less

Most of the seating in this video looks like it would offer me zero neck or head support unless I slump down really low which would give me a low back ache within 3 minutes I do agree that "theater seating" is not really desirable for most of us without a dedicated "theater room" But give me a recliner or some head support and I"ll sacrifice a little rear surround effect to not be in agony And why is not having individual, removable cushions on a sofa/ sectional more desirable / easier to clean? Personally I prefer them so they can be rotated, so you're not wearing out the fabric and cushion of that one preferred viewing seat Wah wah wahI know😂

It has a natural/oak wood look, rectangular shape I want to guess Pottery Barn or Crate & Barrel but not sure 2) Should I go with an AV receiver (such as Onkyo TX-RZ50) or separates (such as a Processor plus Amp from Emotiva)? I am looking for a 92 setup that I will build over time The ability to upgrade to 112 is a nice to have but our setup is unlikely to get that far for my set up We have a somewhat open concept room in the basement with no room behind our sectional couch which is up against the wall So far, I started by buying two Klipsch RP 8000F IIs I need to add a TV (probably 83 inch LG C2) and receiver or processor I will add more speakers over time I will likely get the receiver/processor next because it is more affordable than the TV and I want to test out the speakers Thanks for your help and wisdom!

Man I love my theater chairs I have 6 in 2 rows of 3 Yes its in a dedicated room The head rest us tall but I and most guests and family typically recline and it becomes a non-issue for surround soundstage Good test is the Dolby Atmos test tracks like Amaze Nothing wrong with couches or sectionals but they don’t have the same comfort, like the ability to recline

I pretty much hate all the offerings for home theater seats for the reasons you listed The prices are astronomical and generally they aren't very comfortable I may be in the minority but I also hate that pretty much all of them are leather I am always warm and i feel like I stick to a leather chair or sofa I'll take cozy and comfortable over bells and whistles and RGB lights

Sorry, but right when I saw that first couch there was a major issue you ignored A Home Theater can, due to physics, only have ONE really good seating position for audio, and that's right in the middle Now, the larger your room is the wider that sweet spot, but it doesn't change the fact that the middle seat is always going to be the only truly ideal one in a symmetrical setupbrAnd what do most of these couches not have? Right, a middle seat Most 3 Seaters these days have 2 cushions and a big gap in the middle, so whoever is sitting in the sweet spot will be sitting between two cushions which will only work if there is no big gap and they are relatively firmbrThis is an issue, both for home theater seating and couches btw and finding a couch that actually has individual "seats" for every person is depressingly rarebrbrAlsothere is one option if you want seperate seats, get some IKEA Poäng chairs, they are among the most comfortable chairs you can get and are relatively cheap
