Ali Abdaal does Anki decks and spreadsheets for the other stuff that doesn't need to be on an Anki card Left column is questions, so you can put all the stuff that's grouped together in certain areas of the sheet, and right column is for answers, which are left white while you're reading the question Just turn the text black to check your answers He color codes the cell fill color so that it'll tell him whether or not he needs to review the question or if he struggled on itbrbrI took that idea and automated it in Google Spreadsheet using helper columns and conditional formatting and formulasbrbrI also have OneNote, Notion, Trello, and a few other appsbrbrNever heard of Scrintal until now Love the idea, as it seems like an improved version of OneNote I'll have to try it out and invest in it once I start on my BSN undergrad pre-med stuff

Watching several med student study videos, I've reached two conclusions 1) No one reads the text books 2) You're going to forget 80 of the smaller details you sucked up for the exam, but keep the big picture clear; that way, details that are encountered again and again have a place to go

First year Pre clinical Student here (MBCHB) Not (MD)brI struggle with deciding between the lecture material and my textbooks brbrA lot of medical YouTubers lean heavily into just learning the material (ie Slides & Powerpoints) But does that mean studying texts are a waste of time? Cause they're so large and they take so much time to work through

I'm in my second quarter of the year and I JUST realized that it really can be useless to take notes during lectures lol It's much more better to absorb the information and also create your own study materials (like the flashcards that you mentioned) Thanks for the tips :D

Thank you for the vid it was very helpful! i'm a 1st year Computer Science student and I've been trying things out in the 1st semester, I also strongly prefer Quizlet since it's just way prettier and also more functions and just quicker/easier to use in general Also, I feel you for oral exams, here in Italy oral exams are so common we have them for almost every class in Uni, for some time I thought we only had them here but I'm glad to see it's not the case😅 My 2nd semester is gonna start next week so I'm checking out some new ways to take notes to prepare, I heard Obsidian is one of the best note taking systems so I'm definetely gonna try it out Subscribed!
