The toonie came out to replace the $2 bill I was 42 when they came out and had seen maybe 30 $2 bills in my life, so they were replacing something rare On another note, I did get 3 $2 US bills in Phoenix a couple of weeks ago

And you can't go by the grainy Look on the nineteen 1996 toonie because the mint had hired a german company , and a lot of the two ones were struck on german plantates , which looked like they have a wood , green orlines going through the material
