Man the caller could easily use the 15k scratch and save and borrow the remaining amount and have the total loan paid off in his first year of work I know Dave is against borrowing money but this young man calling is in a low student amount in comparison to his new income brNow if this young man started saving before he went to school he wouldn’t have to borrow but that’s not the case brWhat an excellent example of using student loan money for a degree that will give you a >3x return on investment over the long term brOf course if he doesn’t pay it back than everything I said is worthless as it is all dependent on him lying it back quickly

Even if he can't put money directly into a Roth IRA, he can put money in a traditional IRA and convert it into a Roth IRA later There is no need to take extraordinary measures now because you cant bdirectly/b fund a Roth IRA after making too much money later
