As a Dallas native, here’s my two cents 1) Avoid anywhere south of I-30 as a general rule 2) The Forest & Audelia area It’s a low-rent, crime-filled shithole 3) The Five Points area Like #2, it’s a low-rent district where a few episodes of The First 48 were filmed 4) The area just northwest of 635 & 75, in and around Kit Ln & Esperanza 5) Even though it’s north of I-30, stay away from West Dallas 6) The Webb Chapel & Northwest Highway area If you’re a renter, look for a complex in a higher-rent district If you can’t afford that, find a stand-alone complex not a part of a large district The farther north, the better

I've lived in the West Dallas Housing Projects and the Oak Cliff Winnetka Heights Historic District just a few blocks from the first 7-11 in the world I Graduated from Sunset High School in 1969 and was the first of my family to finish High School I have an Associate Degree from DCCDbrbrI'm not ashamed of any of this, in fact I am proud of myself and my accomplishments
