My low family income, Marxist raised daughter received a full scholarship, four year degree from one of these very prestigious high endowment colleges- a degree which included paid for internships in Washington DC and the purchase of any relevant technology for her degree in 'Government' We pursued this option in parallel with those provided by our State University system Even though she was required to obtain available 'Pell' funding- leaving her with some debt- her overall costs were less with the 'more expensive' private institution than our public institutions would have providedbrbrWe planned ahead, did our research, and it paid off- thank you Smith College!

Man can't believe this video was made pre-covid All they stated about economic downturns causing the school to use even less of their endowments actually happened! I go to a school with one of the largest endowments in the country, yet my tuition has been going up with no end in sight Our school's facilities are in such poor condition and we lack so many key resources, yet we're touted as having such a big endowment! I even looked up the salary of our Chief Investment Officer who is in charge of the endowment, and she's making over $11 million dollars a year while many of us are struggling financially just to get a basic education!

As an average person attempting to judge the bias of such a piece without any in-depth knowledge of the topic, I notice that it seems to lack sufficient good faith consideration of the sizeable, complex dynamics/challenges that must be involved in running a large, prestigious academic/research/cultural institution (and its financial resources) -- with time horizons measured in centuries and amidst massive and accelerating change in the world That's a real set of challenges that specific people and teams have as their day-to-day jobs On that basis, I'd suggest that this piece was definitely not neutral or "un-biased" It was a tight and compelling story, easy to follow, and repeatedly pressed on the "unfairness aversion" hot button, especially for students who think they shouldn't have to pay so much for tuition (count me among them!) Rather than viewing the storyline as neutral, I felt it was expressing a clear point of view/opinion/"bias" It does contain numbers and charts; those serve to spark my curiosity to learn more rather than convince me of any specific argument that was presented

I wonder if they still pay these fees Anything above 15 for management is not justified 1 or below is goodbrbrWith the amount of assets they have, they could surely convince a large investment bank to manage their assets in a very standard manner, akin to what they do for most of their clients, for a 05 management fee Nothing too special or crazy They can even invest them in ESG (eco friendly, socially responsible, etc) funds, for a small markupbrbrDivesting from oil would have been a good move in retrospect
