Right now we have direct tv and we like it The reason I wanna get a roku device is to sync my hue gradient tv strip ligjts with my rwgular direct tv channels Gradient strip ligjts work good with Netflix, amazin prime etc but I have to stream them through my phone so lights can work and match anything on tv Hue gradient ligjts don't work with native tv apps unfortunally :( anyways is this a service that roku offers or will I be able to use my current direct tv channels with the roku device?

YouTube TV still kicks the crap out of Directv Stream from the standpoint you can have multiple user accounts, each with their own truly unlimited DVR YouTube TV also doesn't seem to care of the users are in different households (different IP addresses), or even different zip codes The UI on YTTV is pretty good with a Roku Now, if Directv would add the ability to have multiple user accounts, each with their own DVR, I might consider changing, so we could get the RSN's Hopefully Bally's pulls their head out of their ars and comes up with competitive pricing on their RSN's, so other streaming services can carry them

Major complaint is that you can not extend recording time On cable TV recordings, you have an option to add time such as 15 minutes, or an hour, etc When watching football games and races, any sporting event that goes past the regular scheduled time, the recording ends Very frustrating Will attempt to remember to record the shows that are after said sporting event

The thing you really need to know about DIRECTV is that they are a bunch of crooks: 1) They say you have 72 hours after installation to cancel the contract In reality is only 24 hours or less, 2) They are allowed to change prices without infringing the contract, 3) Poor customer service, 4) They charge so much for channels with commercials( in my case $140 for Optimo mas) If one has to watch commercials the channels should be free, 5) They charge a monthly fee for equipment that is never going to be owned by the customer and which retail value is much less than what it ends up costing at the end of the contract, and MOST IMPORTANT 6) IRON FIST LENGTHLY CONTRACT which can only be cancelled upon paying a hefty cancelation fee STAY AWAY FROM CONTRACTS!!!

heres a 6th thing to know you can not add all TVs to this remote there are some that will not be able to turn on and off your tv (remote will not take tv code and there no other option to program it) also NO OPTION to add a surround sound receiver for volume through your speakersDEAL BREAKER

I've had att tv/ directv stream for a few years now It is a joke of a service compared to something like youtube tv which I just experienced today and I had to comment and tell people the difference is no comparison The web browser version of directv stream is so buggy and lacks basic features Web browsers like Brave crash without of memory errors Your cloud DVR recordings will just randomly miss 8 seconds of a show and live tv randomly stops playing with the spinning circle so you have to refresh the page The guide in youtube tv has live previews of all stations as you scroll through it I am an att employee and thanks to them selling I no longer get directv tv stream for 10 dollars a month so ill be cancelling it in the next few weeks and its not a loss But it opened my eyes to what the competition is Directv stream is going to go down in flames when people see what the competition has and im sure they will end up killing it So don't bother The streaming boxes are nice and simple but that is the only thing and even those have major bugs since they updated them with directv stream code from ATT tv They stopped working with ARC controls for some reason

I signed up online No pushy salesman trying to add crap I switched from dish because of the regional sports dish doesn't offer in my area The interface is great but buggy depending on your connection speed or weakspots in your wifi I'd reccomended buying an ATT TV box on Ebay if you don't have top tier internet signals The on demand libraries so vast the dvr is almost never needed but I did the dvr upgrade I pay $169 a month and I have everything Very pleased
