As a Pricipal Network & Systems Engineer Everything you just said in this video means absolutely nothing Especially we do not know what the end user has for a modem & ISP, "copper" or "fiber" Does the homeowner have a back end with switches & AP's? & furthermore you didn't elaborate on what any of the specs are for each router, you completely glazed over the fact that even though the cheaper one you bought has/is Wi-Fi 6 it is most likely only 1 band that is Wi-Fi 6 & the other is still Wi-Fi 5 wave 4 or 5 Each router is different & has different specs & features, example how many devices does the Wi-Fi support simultaneously? What are the streaming and throughput/bandwidth capabilities? Does it have MMO/MMIO? These are things that a normal person that doesn't have knowledge in wouldn't know to look for you can not just go buy a router, take it out of the box, & everything "works" as intended There are a lot of other factors involved & the uninitiated general public has no clue what to look for, do better in explaining these types of things, I would suggest to make a long form video about it

Honestly the cheap TP Link routers consistency surprise me and have always done better for me than anything Linksys or Netgear has put outbrbrOddly they’re the only things that seem to last more than a year when I install them for family too

Why not go for the cheap $20 router? Most devices don't have wifi chips new enought to make use of the newest wifi protocols So unless your entire house is built with everything being on wifi, the end user will likely never know the difference

Gaming routers are not just for gaming; Gaming routers tend to be well-spec'd meaning usually have good wifi, usually powerful and fast processors compared to cheaper units, and can be tweaked to perform better for your own use casebrbrI no longer use one, but I'd not be buying the lowest priced unit and expecting much out of it either I would consider other things like one's own bandwidth, the typical usage as in GB's per day, number of people using the wifi, and number of devices using wifi as well If I looked at the specs of most routers, I'm more likely to believe that the router is capable of handling about 1/2 of whatever is written on the box; so if it says it's good for 70 devices, I'd consider it a 35 device router and be done

Whole home mesh is workable for larger homes, just sayin' The router you chose is fine for a regular size home For me, my home router is a Qotom PC Q20331G9 S10 running OPNSense 237 I provide WiFi with Unifi Access Points

Oh god not Netgear thrown away so much of there junk over the years use to do networking as a job and I wouldnt even reccomend netgear to my worst enemy, they use to have horrid firmware for years that just replacing them with another brand would fix most issues the customer was having
