I dont think you realize how useful civil/environmental/architectural engineers actually are, the current infrastructure is very out dated undeveloped in most cities and with changing energy goals and the environmental crisis it will have a huge market

You cannot do a Mechanical engineering degree and apply to Biomedical jobs brbrBiomedical engineering would be closer to Computer engineering where you will have more of Electronic instrumentation, signals and systems etc In fact, you can do a MS in Biomedical engineering after a bachelor's in Computer Engineering But I agree with Shane, it's definitely a niche degree

Just a suggestion to make a teir list specifically on the engineering technology spectrum rather than engineering It is true they are not the same, but truly, as a graduate of one of eng tech, I see a lot of demand for my degree (electrical) The biggest difference is what we do is maintenance and metering on equipment, while an engineer sits in their office drawing stuff In my opinion, a technology degree is more amusing than a regular one because it has some hands-on work vibe to it rather than office work

It seems to me the biggest engineering challenges right now all boil down on control/systems theory with superior algorithms Just a few examples:br- Autonomous drivingbr- Land a rocket like SpaceXbr- Quadcoptersbr- Noise cancelling ear budsbrBig companies must pay big salaries to people providing these algorithms and it looks like we're just at the start of it with new tools like AI in control theory

I think you’re underestimating the flexibility of a marine engineering degree Think of a vessel as a floating facility/plant Marine engineers are trained to deal with all systems aboard a ship, so it kind of makes them a jack of all trades Marine engineers are able to find shoreside jobs in varying fields relatively easily

I personally am working full time, getting a industrial engineering technology degree mostly online The one main difference is I do not take Cal 3 or Physics 3 And all of my field based classes are all classes taken your Junior and senior year ( mostly - status cal and operation/production analysis) in industrial engineering brbrStarting out, with absolutely no experience, entry level pay with having two semesters left, is roughly 45 - 56brbrThat may not seem like a lot, but at a really well known defense engineering company that starts with a “R” starts their mechanical engineers out at 46-54 a year brbrGet this, I will start at a operations tech making 47 a year, and after 15 years of experience I will be eligible for a engineering tech position making 62brbrEngineering tech level 2 - 74 a yr - 4 yrs of experiencebrbrAnd finally Engineering tech/engineer lvl 3 - 5-8 yrs of experience making 86+brbrAlso, I know two classmates that graduated with 3 years of experience as operation techs get hired as full time engineers in place of mechanical and systems engineersbrbrI was told the same thing, and yes they are not theoretical engineering degrees, but applied can get you places as wellbrbrI believe they are great for people that want to learn a niche and have the flexibility to work their way into really nice jobs/careers with the appropriate hands on experiencebrbrGreat video man!brbrbrAlso, they are way more affordable when it comes to financials Do t get stuck with $180,000 in debt, please do not Good luck guys
