I understand your point of view, but playing music means much more than just pressing the keys ! You have to acquire some knowledge and some technique to be able to colour your sounds, make them breath and sing, give them a soul in order to express something and to express yourself as well By the way, what you call piano is not a real piano and you can’t really make progress beyond a certain point on such keyboards The worst is that you’re going to take bad habits that are very difficult to change afterwards Sorry to disappoint you, but there is no miracle

if you're not reading sheet music you're just going to forget the piece and not be able to play it anymore You also take forever to learn a new piece if you aren't reading sheet music You're progress is misleading It's good though that you at least mention it on this video So props to you! Spend a couple of years not looking at your hands and reading sheet music you'll really feel the joy of playing the piano

I'm doing the same and this sounds valid ngl Idk music theory and I'm not really focusing on it as much as I should, but I teach myself my favourite songs on the piano Not because I want to learn the instrument, but because I want to be able to play the songs whenever I don't have music readily available Sounds dumb but yeah If I did this everyday for a year I'm pretty sure I'd be able to play any piece given prep time within a year I'll probably be really bad at improv and an even worst artist (as a whole) but I 100 would be amazing at covers

What a lot of people here don't understand is that everybody has a different goal, and for some It is to just know how to play the pieces they like, and not necessarily become an incredible musician And, maybe the goal changes along the way and the person does get bad habits etc But if that's what it takes to love music, go for it That's what matters, and not to be perfect

As a rank beginner myself (2 months) I find it much easier to learn from sheet music than from synthesia (Reading the music especially helps with the timing between the left and right hands) I can't sight-read, but I can figure it out; and I just learn short passages until I have the whole piece If one starts out with something like the Alfred's All-In-One Adult Piano Course book, you'll learn everything you need to know, and can go at your own pace and make fast progress Winging it with synthesia will almost definitely cause you to establish bad habits which will be hard to breakand missing out on the fundamentals and theory will really stunt your growth

Fundamentals of playing the piano is reading, technique, and music theory If you just learn a bunch of songs you like you will always struggle to learn a new piece of music because your knowledge and skills will be lacking making it harder and take a lot longer to learn There are really no shortcuts to becoming competent at playing the piano, just lots of study and practice in a structured way will always produce more long-lasting results

"Which keys to press" Sigh Stunting on the keyboard using video gaming skills I suppose if all you want is to be able to execute a few impressive piecesbrI used Skoove for two weeks and moved on to using adult instruction books, which do teach a bit of theory, nothing like the intimidating graphics you used here Even that method is geared to goal-obsessed adults So, you're playing blues pieces and syncopation too early Ultimately I chose to pay a fluency coach for a deep foundation in basic musicality via super-gradual child-like practice before I even start traditional theory-based performance training I began this journey at age 66 To each his own
