Great video! I think where I get stuck is knowing when to go for breadth versus depth (prioritizing or emphasizing/excluding), and when to decide that I know enough about one area and reach to new material or double down on fundamentalsbrbrFor example, let's say I want to get better at playing piano to help me write music Should I learn classical or jazz or another style, and when do I take time to apply that to my own writing? Maybe I'm already pretty good at one style— should I get even better at it since it's my strength or start working on a weaker area? Also, each style has its own deeply rich knowledge tree, and at some point I have to decide that going any further would perhaps be less beneficial than spending energy on another area to help with writing music (like singing or writing lyrics)brbrI want to say that maybe applying the 20/80 rule can help here, but again I run into this recursive problem of applying the rule all the way down the tree 😅 Comment from : j3tman |
