Another option might be the Altec Lansing - Bluetooth HydraMotion 20 Best buy has it on sale for $40 I'm going to check it out for my wife If I buy it I'll try to comment back on how we like it I'll probably compare the sound against that small JBL you have on the right and make a decision between the two

I know there is a lot of Bose lovers out there and I’ve owned several in my day, they always sound pretty good but never knock my socks off Even worse, I bought three Bose SoundLink minis and all three were dead within three years The recharging base wouldn’t charge, separate charging cable worked for a while, but in the end, the internal circuitry on all three failed I read a lot of complaints from users about the same failure, it seems like crap engineering job on the charging circuit boards Almost $600 between these three speakers, and they all ended up in a landfill after three years Won’t buy Bose products again On the other hand, I’ve got to disagree with his opinion of the JBL GO3 I bought a GO2 and it was rubbish, returned it same day for the GO3 Since the original purchase, we’ve bought two more and given them as gifts These are great for traveling, in a hotel room, or on the beach they sound great for your personal space without disrupting everyone around you Battery last a long time, the speakers get pretty loud for their size, and you can get them on sale for less than $30 Also have one UE Wonderboom and it must be a smaller model than the one he has because it was only $50 on sale The sound is a little bit bigger than the JBL but other than that it performs pretty similarly and I would also recommend it

I use a soundcore boom 2 and love it I only use it for camping, and the sound fills our campsite I also love i don't have to worry about it getting wet Its my favorite speaker so far I really enjoy soundcore products

Boombox 3 is an all around great speaker With Caesars employee rewards app, i got it for, wait for it$35!!! Use it around my the pool, working on family's cars, but really shines at tailgates(even Eagles fans didn't mess with me!) Classic Rock with this kickin out the VH, Rush, etc blew people away! Great sound, but heavy AF! Worth every penny

First time viewer here Thank you for your honest review I own many of the JBL and Bose speakers you reviewed I’m also a retired DJ and I look for good quality sound and well built speakers I would recommend the Apple HomePod speaker It’s not portable, but it’s an awesome speaker to use at home only Otherwise, my choice of speaker to take on trips is the JBL Charge 5 That little speaker has some good quality sound in a small portable package! The Bose Soundlink Flex is also an excellent speaker to take on trips, and its price cheaper than the JBL Charge 5!!

I’ve had mainly JBL I used to work at Best Buy and they had the best bang for your buck even at our employee discount brbrIn the next 6 months I’ll be in the market to upgrade brbrThe only one I was surprised with is the Beats brbrAs an Apple user I like you can plug it in brbrBut also with updated Bluetooth I would like to know which one would be able to do well with a Mac mini pairing brbrI want to splurge for a Bose or a Klipsch brbrI’ve had a couple of their sound bar and heard their hardwired speakers and I’m a huge fan!brbrAlso thank you for the reviews In 5 years not much has changed except for the software And connectivity

I had the flip 6 and the sound quality is just mid, it distorts in high volume and bass is weak, doesn’t get that loud either, and overall sound quality is lacking for a JBL speaker, I exchanged it for the charge 5 for 30$ more and it’s way better it’s on another level sound quality it’s much better, with deeper bass and gets super loud for its size without distorting, overall it’s a better option, don’t know why people overhype this speaker, Cause it simply isnt all that

Great video I’ve owned Bose, JBL and Soundcore speakers In my experience Bose has always had a pleasant well balanced sound and WAS worth the price tag However, JBL has been making a statement lately and adding more balance to their boom I agree that the JBL Boombox 3 is a beast and one of the best sounding speakers and when comparing the price point against Bose, JBL gives you more bang for your buck and takes the cake, especially in a party or large crowd scenario The Charge 5 instantly became my favorite portable If you’re in a tight budget, Soundcore is a descent option if you want something quick but, it’s worth saving up for something in the late JBL series You can go Bose if you’d like and you won’t be disappointed but, I feel you’ll be more than satisfied getting a booming JBL at a lesser price tag

Bose max is for my outdoors shenanigans and recently bought a devialet mania which is far superior in sound and quality but not as portable as the bose max and definitely not for outdoors Love the content! Keep it up

I have just trashed a Taotronics Pulse X & Tribit SoundMax Plus (Gen 1) because of dead batteries These speakers were impossible to disassemble (using YT instructions, I'm an EE) without destroying grills etc Do you have any recommendations for units with either replaceable batteries or that are easy to disassemble? Waterproofing & apps are NOT essential (I still use MP3 players!), good sound isbrPS In addition I have a (1) Bose SoundLink II with batteries that still charge & are replaceable but I'm not a fan of the sound (2) a second Tribit SoundMax Plus because I really like their sound & cost (hint) BUT Tribit messed up the sound of their Gen 2 Cheers!

Boom box 3 is by far the best on the table and the flip 6 for its size destroys the other brands idk how jbl does it but they just keep going only problem I have is that they didn’t make the boom box 3 have the option to remove the battery I had to get rid of mine for a soundboks go because it would die after 4 hours playing at no louder than 50 volume
