I always liked Bad News, and I'm certainly no insider or anything more than a fan, but his claims about Vince taking money to get back the money he lost on iNo Holds Barred/i seems odd The movie more or less broke even $8M spent to make $16M at the box office, with advertising et al, he would've either broke even or made a very small amount of extra on the end Bad News had no reason to lie here, either (other than I often wonder if wrestlers of that generation bstill/b try to keep kayfabe alive in interviews), so it makes me wonder if Vince was taking the money out for some other reason

The world has been a lesser place since Bad News Brown died What a great storyteller A smart guy, great presence, good in ring performer - he would have been great at any point in wrestling history He would have been perfect for the NWA in the 80's, but he also would have been great during the Attitude Era He was timeless and above trends He kind of had a Stone Cold thing going on, too (a badass who didn't like anyone) So great And his potential was completely wasted by Vince What a shame

Arn Anderson told the story of he and Tully Blanchard quitting because of not making as much as NWA paid them when Vince promised they would make more Afterwards Arn said there was a line of people outside Vince's office who also felt underpaid All of this is happening toward the end of 89 when No Holds Barred came out so I tend to believe Bad News when he says Vince was underpaying talent to make up for money he lost on that movie

Bad News Brown was 46-years-old when he quit the WWE in 1990 He probably shouldn't have done that, considering that: 1) The WWE was the highest-paying pro wrestling promotion in the world, and 2) Most wrestlers over 40 were making a "fraction" of what Bad News was earning in 1990 Bad News just wasn't aware that he was "too old" for a World Championship push -- especially in 1990 Even today, most guys that are 46+ are not World champions
