My 3000 dollar Samsung lasted 8 years The new Samsung's bottom freeze bin's face pulled off/broke off withing a month NOTE Home Depot offered nothing but Samsung's number, Samsung offered no help or I get to live with a broken bin or fix it myself Won't be buying appliances from Home Depot nor Samsung

No mention about fridges using the newer R-600 refrigerants vs using the older R134/R34A refrigerants? No mention about single vs dual evaporators? I've heard to stay away from all LG and Samsung fridges, period I currently own an LG model fridge and have had nothing but problems In addition, I've heard to stay away from any fridge with R-600 and those with dual evaporators Decades ago, all appliances and machines were built to last Now, everything is designed for 'planned obsolescence' or 'built to fail' in order to maximize profits So sad!

Great informative video, thank you for taking the time to do this I had purchased an LG 5 drawer refrigerator 10 years ago, and had nothing with issues after one year LG ended up almost replacing everything because they didn’t know what the actual problem was I was advised by a sales person at the store we purchased this product that LG knew there was problems with this new model but launched it anyway I will never again buy any refrigeration products from LG

I agree with LG being at the bottom -- most worthless POC I ever bought Failed after 3 months Wife called and LG fixed Less than 2 months later - it went out again Wife called LG, their response: "Pre-existing condition and we cannot fix" What? in a less than 6 month old refrigerator? Wife called company we bought it from - LG called within 10 minutes and said they would be right out to fix it Just wondering how long it will last this time

I thought I was the only person with rotten luck Bought new Kenmore fridge in 12/15 It was replaced in 2019 with another Kenmore That one went by the wayside a month ago I've had American Home Shield to cover my appliances since 2015 They replaced the first by giving me a new fridge the old one couldn't be repaired This one Kenmore says it will replace parts, but not put them in After going back & forth for close to a month AHS now says they aren't either I've argued I didn't buy this fridge you did It all went down between you & Kenmore May I suggest not to buy AHS We've paid monthly religiously since 2015 & now it's too bad we're not fixing it, but your new bill will be arriving on 01/24!!! By the way we purchased a new fridge cheaper than what Sears wanted to put all the parts in they were covering!

LG French door refrigerator is the worst Just try cleaning storage drawers when something spills Because the drawers are made of component pieces that are impossible to clean thoroughly Also we have had TWO compressors replacements on three years Never again will an LG enter my home!!!

Have a Whirlpool fridge that’s 10+ years old Ice maker works, water dispenser stopped a few years back but that’s ok because I could see mold all around the dispenser We have reverse osmosis water anyway Also have a 21 year old oven/stove by Whirlpool and a 15 year old dryer In my mind Whirlpool makes decent products - maybe it depends on the assembly line

One brand that you did not mention is Fisher & Paykel They have been designing products since 1934 and have grown into a global company with products sold in more than 50 countries around the world Now owned by Haier, a Chinese company ( since 2016 ) We have owned one for about 15 years ( Built in New Zealand model ) It is a well-thought-out and very efficient refrigerator The only issue we have had is some paint imperfections in the door finish Fisher & Paykel is considered a luxury brand, or at least was and I presume still is We were the first kids on the block to own one and now, several of our neighbours have switched This brand bears a look at ( By the way, my Frigidaire beer fridge is still working, never serviced and keeping the brother-in-law's suds cold after 65 years of continual use)

My LG 238 cu-ft LTCS24223W has been running since 2014 It does not cool the freezer adequately unless I set it to max cooling, thoughbrIt is a top freezer model, with an ice maker inside the freezer I did not set up the ice makerbrAs with all top freezer models, I suppose, getting at stuff in the bottom of the refrigerator section is a nuisance I suspect roll-out bottom freezers would be easier to reach down into than crawling around on the floor to reach into the low refrigerator shelves

Just had a repairman in today who condemned my less than 8 year old Samsung The compressor is shot Told him that it had required more maintenance than any refrigerator I'd ever had He told me to stay away from Samsung and LG Recommended Frigidaire and GE Also said go for inexpensive and simple Basically the same advice this video offers

My Whirlpool 27 Cubic Foot refrigerator with ice and water dispenser in door purchased through Costco last year July 2022, compressor failed last month November 2023 That is only 17 months normal use Now it is middle of December, warranty repair still have not been done It is 3 weeks we are without refrigerator Will never recommend Whirlpool to even my enemies Previous one was a Kenmore that lasted over 32 years

Isn't there a law suit against Samsung fridges Anecdotally I had a terrible experience with Samsung to the point I simply said, "this is my last phone call, the next one will be from my lawyer" This particular incident involved a brand new Samsung dishwasher that had mold in it Samsung did all they could to dance around it After the threat of legal action Lowe's delivered a Bosch dishwasher the next day Never again Samsung

My Samsung French door refer lasted for 14 years without a single issue until the day it died Not worth repairing according to the experts I ordered a GE Profile to replace it Supposedly one of the few still made in America What happened to appliance warranties? New one is only 1 year unless you buy the extended warranty for a ridiculous amount

We bought A GE fridge new in 1978 We carried it with us in 1984 after moving into our new home We finally bought another new GE fridge after the old one would not stop working! We moved it to the garage where it continued to run until 2018, when it finally died For 40 years it provided good service, I only had to replace the ice maker in it in 1980 and that was it I felt terrible taking it to street

When our second hand refrigerator was going we bought a Samsung since it was on sale for quite a bit off So far we are happy with it It's nothing fancy No water/ice dispenser inthe door There is a ice maker in the freezer but it's not hooked up One of the door hinges broke but it was promptly repaired Technician said he'd not seen a hinge break before, so I'm guessing that was a one off But we did know enough to keep it simple

My new Whirlpool is a POS just like the last one Many of the brands come from the same factory in Mexico, so it's a false idea to think you're buying something different just because the name badge is different It's hard to imagine a product worse than Mexico junk, but China junk is worse I have a 45 year old Fridgidaire relegated to beer duty in my garage US made So far it's outlived 4 new units

#1 rule: DON'T buy a fridge with an icemaker! Those things are NOTORIOUS for breaking I bought a Hisense bottom-freezer 17 cu ft model (sold by Lowes) 3 years ago, when it cost $700 It's been trouble-free so far It is incredibly quiet, has a compressor that is ridiculously small, no fans underneath, no grill underneath, no bells and whistlesit is basically just a box that coolsand does it very well Great for a couple or single person I have mine packed with (too much, honestly) paint and other non-food items to extend their shelf life/keep them fresh, and still have room for all the food items I could ever wish to store in itbrbrHow could this thing work, I asked But it does Is it perfect? No - but nothing is But it's been my favorite fridge by far out of all of the fridges I've owned through the years Sure beats a 24-27 cu ft model that's being robbed of a huge amount of real estate by an icemakerbrbrHisense is a Chinese company - not an American company whose products are manufactured in China And the Chinese seemed to have gotten it right with this one They're not trying to lure people in with needless bells and whistles, and certainly can't afford to put people off at this stage by employing planned obsolescence in this fridge It's that inexpensive because it originates directly from ChinabrbrSamsung (terrible fridges) is of course a humongous company that ican/i afford to dangle their expensive whiz-bang features in front of people's facesand get away with it They make up the difference with all their other stuff Kind of like Mercedes-Benz - great off the lot, but cost a fortune to fix when they (soon) start breaking, due to all the computer modules (around a hundred of them) and all the other complexities

Got a Whirlpool 3 years ago $3800 The Ice maker quit in the first 6 months, the lights inside would not turn /off The freezer just stopped working There's to much to list Whirlpool Customer service was HORRIBLE! Essentially no help Eventually they refunded my money because they said it was beyond repair? I personally put $1500 into it I cannot afford a new one just yet Thank God I kept my 20 year old fridge YES it still works fine AND it makes ICE Disgraceful

I have frigidaire dishwasher, oven and refrigerator and they are POS They are the galaxy edition My fridge has broken 4 times, My oven twice and my dishwasher 4 times! The fridge was the condenser fan 4 time My oven was the main board twice My dishwasher has had both pumps replaced and it still only works when it wants to! This is in the last 5 years! I replaced my Samsung fridge that's working perfectly in garage! I will never buy a frigidaire appliance ever again!

Samsung used to make good fridges sadly no more they dont even make reliable LED panels, my 2005 SR502NXA was just replaced by a Haier HRF520B, the samsung still worked but wanted a newer one as my mum has trouble bending down for the fridge so its a bottom freezer The handles also were gorilla glued on due to age lol
