 I pre-paid for my direct cremation ten years ago not wishing for any relatives, or my former wife who I am still in contact with, to be burdened in any manner My sister and herbrhusband also had made pre-planned cremation arrangements prior to their passing

 i am not having a funeral ! because i do not think it is necessary a deceased person lives in the heart of the loved ones and a funeral is not necessary

 My grandfather prepaid for his and left all the paperwork that showed exactly what he paid for and how everything was supposed to be done It was followed to the letter and the family still got a bill for $15k for a pretty simple funeral with no frills No prepay means paying twice in my opinion

May I mention that your loved one may be eligible for a Military Funeral if they served When my father was dying he requested it as he was eligible having served many years ago It is a beautiful Military Cemetery in Florida with the plot with marker provided and an Honor Guard with Taps and shoot a volley and folding of the flag given to me Amazing send-off I was responsible for the casket and funeral home services
