the only shortcut I know of is the US military language school They achieve some insanely fast results but even they still give much longer timeframes than the gimmick methods The main con is that you have to be in the military and also need to learn a language for what they have you doing I'm not military, it's just a somewhat famous program

I learn languages mostly through Youtube, Spotify and Netflix I usually watch Easy Languages videos as a beginner in the language and I also usually start listening to music in the language which is great for motivation and sometimes I also watch videos of songs with tranlated lyrics and learn vocabulary from it Later I start watching normal Youtube-videos in the language and sometimes watching series in the language from Netflix with subtitles in the original language If I don't understand a grammatical concept I google it and sometimes I read grammar from Wikipedia to learn it

in my experience with learning english, german, polish and russian, listening to different and multiple people speak while having the opportunity to ask what certain words or phrases meant and how you write them, when to use them etc ist the best way just using the language to the best of your abilities and having people which correct you and keep you in the correct line is paramount

hey, i'm from czech republic and have been trying to pick up on russian recently, as its quite similar in some aspects Do you have any tips for learning a language when you're already fluent in a language similar to it? I feel like I'm not really learning much as most of the russian I can speak and recall is very very similar to czech, and the phrases that are different i have troubles memorising or remembering them incorrectly

I use Duolingo and I quite like it I will say however that while the playability of Duo makes it fun and attractive, it can be a downside to learning if you only do Duo You have to make it work for learning; as in writing at least some of the exercises Also complete it with other learning tricks like watching videos, reading stories or going to language exchange groups
