I have yet to play saints row 1&2 I own 2 and it’s downloaded on my PC But here’s the thing I love saints Row 4 And when the saints row “fans” I see hating on it… well if I play along with that idea I’m supposed to assume that saints row 1&2 are just the holy grail of media and everything after playing them will suck in comparison if they’re that much better than 4 But I KNOW how fake video game “fans” can be One of the few video games I love more than Saints Row 4 is Fallout 4 And I’ve played every single Fallout game with THOUSANDS OF Hours in each game with the exception of 76, which I’m excited to eventually play more of I love all of them In just about every “objective” way fallout 4 is easily superior to every other fallout game And almost any criticism given to in comparison to the other games is completely invalid, and the people usually criticizing it are clearly trying to fit some New Vegas loving Bethesda hating elitist profile Fallout New Vegas was my first fallout game, I love it Definitely not better than 4, in pretty much every way With that said the fallout “fans” hate on 4, 76, and a lot of the time even 3, despite them being fantastic games So I KNOW, that I will probably enjoy Saints Row 1&2, but I also know Saints Row 4 is probably better and the hate for 4 and hype for 1 & especially 2 only only sour my mood on 1&2 So maybe instead of hating on one of the greatest games, just because you played the intro and thought super powers and aliens were weird and too much, maybe tell me that 1&2 are very great and that they’re a little more grounded than 4, though still great With that said Saints Row Reboot was absolutely horrendous and I gave it a proper chance because I thought going into it, it was hopefully fake hate from the so called fans Nope, although some mechanics were actually nice, the unspeakably bad characters, story, aura, bugs, etc completely ruined it This all reminds me of Star Wars and their fan base, the OT was good, the fans hated the Prequel Trilogy, when it was overall just better than the OT even with the few weird unimportant retcons But everyone hated that so going into the sequel Trilogy I expected it to great and underrated And to an extent it was over hated… hardly They basically went on field day trying to be as bad as possible So what I’m trying to say is, the fans of things are not to be trusted because they’ll hate on good stuff, but also hate on bad stuff, so you can never know until you experience it yourself
