Yeah technically they only broke up in the eyes of the general population but they were still together and they just became a super large monopoly a few years later again All they did was change names and have different companies in different names Which benefited them always

I was working at a cingular wireless call center that used to be an at&t call center when at&t bought them We all had company given work cell phones and that day we woke up and they all immediately said at&t The next few days the were painting all the orange walls white again All the customer calls were about what the hell is going on

Years ago my grandpa worked for Bell Telephone The section he worked for became Verizon eventually and he got his pension from there and my grandma after he diedbrbrDad started working for Comcast's cellular division in Philly in the mid 1990s They were bought and sold multiple times from Southwest Bell to Cingular to AT&T It was super confusing figuring out health insurance and other benefits year to year

I used to work retention for att a few years ago, and I have to say, att has the most entitled customers ever, especially when it comes to them wanting to cancel something and finding out they're on a contract and have to pay a fee to cancel "Oh well no one ever told me there was a contract" okwhatever you say liar The best is when you get the idiots who say that we took money on of their accounts when on autopay, or say we overdrew their accounts and needed the money for rent

I worked for them from 1999 to last year, and worked through all that change Pretty much spot on BTW - The initials "AT&T" carry a lot more brand recognition than Cingular or SBC Those acquisitions were for the NAME
