Thank you for sharing your experience Is the NQT year paid by your employer? How easy is it to find a school? How long between PGCE and passing your NQT year did you get qualified status? I have been told you need to pass NQT otherwise you can lose QTS status Is that right?

I'm just going into my NQT yearcand found this really helpful, I also studied in sheffield for my secondary science PGCE this year! I had a terrible time on my sandwich placement school so it's nice to know it's not just me that hasn't loved every school I have been in, they're so different, teaching in Doncaster next year

Hi brThis was absolutely informative and helpful I'm currently in a non-teaching job and thinking of taking a PGCE after this virus lockdown is over My desire is to go with primary years as I think younger children are easier than teenagers but my background is finance and economics I would love to teach Economics but I'm not so sure I can appeal to the big kids Btw, they're all taller than me!! Any thoughts?
