That seems like something that would be hard to counterfeit Misplaced mint marks are common and there were a few thousand of the 1909 so how can you just go off the mint mark? I'd have it graded regardless of my own investigation

There is 4 different varieties for the mint mark placement! So have your coin graded by NGC or PCGS and get it CERTIFIED before you go claiming that it’s a “counterfeit” coin! /end of rant! 😂

Don't call it counterfeit yet We love collecting minting errors because they don't occur that often It could be a misprint Either from another year or actually from 1905 I think you need a second professional opinion before dismissing it

How on Earth could it be a counterfeit because the S and the VDB are above the surface it's not like as if you could just scratch it in so that would mean they'd have to add material and just that exact shape to the surface, and how the hell do you do that?
