Well i should share my experiencebrI started with wlecteic guitar around 7 years back to be true after few years i wished i could have started with acoustic guitar the way i practice on acoustic guitar helps me get better at electric guitar on electric i usually had some technique issues but whatever it is the amt of pressure you give on acoustic guitar automatically makes your fingers stronger and accurate

So is there any difference between a straight acoustic and an acoustic/electric in regards to difficulty in fretting the strings? Tried picking up guitar a couple times in my life but I'm really wanting to learn now I'm leaning acoustic, but I already know my green fingers would prefer to learn on a guitar that requires the least amount of pressure to hold down the strings

Nice to see your acoustic guitar shown being a Furch (Yours has the S which is the name they used for Canadian outlets) They really are the finest acoustic guitars and sadly brands like Taylor still dominate the conversation Money and marketing always talk and so its refreshing for you to be seen using a Furch - You could have so easily sold yourself to the Devil and be yet another influencer using a Taylor In fact - I know you also highliughted the qualities of Cort guitars - which again - never mentioned in the main high street shops because they would rather sell the easy sell - An Ibanez (Made by Cort !!!) I always played acoustic, never with discipline to learn theory, scales etc just strumming my chords to play hundreds of songs, now i decided to relearn picking, scales, soles etc, I'm 44, what good exercises you'd recommend?

If you’re a kid who practices while sitting on the edge of a bed or on the couch there is only one good choice in my opinion Get a slim guitar that allows you to see the frets and strings while holding the guitar in a good playing position

Go with electric I've been playing guitar since age 13electric is just easier and forgivingthat will motivate you more in the beginning stages of learning the guitarbrbrThere is nothing wrong in learning the acoustic first but its just a tad bit demanding physically and trust me there is a different learning curve for acoustic guitars

I tried a jumbo acoustic and abandoned it for being unwieldy and a decade later started again with a superstrat, merely purchased bc i can practice quietly The difference in comfort is astounding My next rig will very likely be an acoustasonic when/if i graduate to acoustic for similar reasons

Hey, thanks Awesome video and great reasons on each Honestly, it doesn't matter which one to use to learn the basics The first year or two, all I learned were songs meant for acoustics but all I had was an old electric Squier strat It is much easier to handle If you want to learn, use either just keep playing, learning, and saving for the one you want most You are an amazingly talented guitarist! Very inspiring Keeps me wanting to continue practicing forever 👍 👏

Well, I tried advancing from ukelele to the acoustic guitar first, but I gave up on it because it would hurt every time I wanted to practice and I have really small hands So it's impossible for me to even play certain notes I really did try my best, but saw no progress so I ended up quitting I think I'll try electric guitar Wish me luck :)

I started with finger style acoustic and I may not know a ton of songs but I’ve learned so many difficult techniques that I wouldn’t have learned this early if I started with an easier style I say if you have the motivation to start with the hard stuff first than go for it

It depends on a few things: brbr- Player level brAre you a beginner ? Intermediate or advanced? brBecause if you are a beginner it's best to start with an acoustic guitar brSimple, cheaper and basic brbrHowever your choice might be based on the type of music you wanna play brIf you're into music like Rock and Roll it's better to start with the acoustic because of the genre

Picked up my first electric a few months ago after having learned on and played acoustic for years I’m a hard believer that everyone should start off on acoustic - it’s easier to pick up and play, easier to take with you, but also teaches the muscles to press down hard on the frets But one thing I always felt on acoustic as I grew is how limited you are - an acoustic will sound pretty much the same all the timebrbrTransitioning to electric was like entering an entirely new universe - pedals, knobs, pickups, amps A million different combinations to change the way your guitar sounds!

I always wanted to get an electric guitar to start practicing solos and i genuinely love the sound of an electric guitar, i Don’t Listen to much netal and that stuff bc it lacks in lyrical aspect, i Like rap, but i Like a good solo on an electric guitar, and the day i went to get one, my father Made an ultimatum “you will either buy an acoustic one or you can get a new wristwatch” i got An acoustic one And i can’t learn it, Because there Are no songs I’d learn, only soviet anthem which i learned so yeah, and the reason my father didn’t get me an electric? Cuz he didn’t want to give extra 30-50 bucks for an amp, and when i offered to buy it myself he just shook me off
