The Peace dollar was first struck on December 28, 1921 with 4 days left until 1922 If they minted them for a month that means they were striking 1921's in 1922 The shortage or rarity of 1921 is due to striking only four days before the end of the year Comment from : @steveperez2778 |

it is hard to detect by looking at the surface You are right about the thickness between two coins as a big giveaway I can spot the difference immediately as both coin were turned side way showing their thickness Did you check the reading on the counterfeit coin with the versifier?
