Ratios are everything, but here's my opinion Paying off debt is a guaranteed return on your money of the interest that you would pay in that year It is rare for the average investor to make more than 20 on their investments @ 20 interest, that's 200 dollars every year on a credit card of $1k If you pay the thousand, you earned $200 in year 1 even more if you calculate the savings over multiple years

When I inherited stock and money, I just put it in my brokerage account It's still there earning income, which is available for spendingbrTell Brian not to get too deep into audio - I know guys who have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on equipment My system is about $30K, that's good enough for me

@money guys, just sold a vacation home in August Primary residence is paid off, no debt, saving 25 of my income in a Roth 401k plan, 1k per month additional savings The market had reached all time highs before closing and felt uncomfortable investing at that level with the current valuations but also feel uncomfortable losing buying power due to inflation I did top off 2 flex cd’s that we’re @ 225 and 275 My current age is 58? Dollar cost average a percentage into the market?

I have had a few windfalls in my life I took care of most of my debt with the first one & took myself & my kids on multiple trips & spent the rest on nice dinners, it was gone within 6 months The second time that happened before I even got the settlement I had a clear plan of what I was doing with the money I spent it intentionally, got the rest of the way out of debt & I am soooo grateful to my younger self that I did that With the 3rd one it went towards large items we absolutely needed Had I not been on this path to being financially responsible I definitely wouldn't be thinking I'd ever be able to retire Thank you guys for helping me & so many others!
