You can keep simpleMake the same Chord shapeSuch as the MAJOR Barr chord with the ROOT on the LOW E stringbrIf you move it UP one stringROOT on the A stringit's a minorbrIf you move it UP one more stringROOT on the D stringit's Min/min7 chordlmaobrbrApply the same concept to other CHORD SHAPES you know already,brsuch as this simple ShapebrbrDb7brA3brERbrbrIf you move it up to root on A stringit's still a sort of dominantbrif you move it up with the Root on the D stringit's Maj3, 6but also an inverted minbrRoot on the G string string it's a diminished brbrThe Maj3 add6 with the root on the D is cool( F Maj add6brWhile holding that shapeplay a different ROOT note on the A stringbrIf you play the Bb noteit's Bb maj7brIf you play the B note it's B dimbr C note it's C sus4add6/9br C# noteC# augbr D note D minbrbrit's going to help you modulateNotice the D min / BMaj7brThe BbMaj7 would be the Lydian or IV of F Maj/DminbrYou can also play the Bbmaj7while in A minor as A Harmonic min b2aka ( N6)brbrYou can also play C# augmented into D Harmonic min or D melodic minorbrbrIn other wordsthat shape with the ROOT on the D stringcan be usebras an Axis or PIVOT to multiple KEYS or scales Comment from : @oneeyemonster3262
