Everyone thinks Associate Nursing degree is a 2-year program What they don’t tell you is you need to complete the prerequisites which usually take a year to complete before you can APPLY for the nursing program From there, whether you can get in or not is based on the competition and your scores All in all, most competent programs take 3 years for your associates, and 1 more year to complete the bachelors, which opens up more hospital opportunities Comment from : @supreme5998 |

1 degree that you did not mention in healthcare does involve technology / engineering it is a biomedical equipment technology It the the repair and maintenance of all medical equipment in the hospitals Some work for companies There are certs also and someone can easily make 60k with a 2 year degree Companies who hire call them Field Service Engineer The job involve electronics, mechanics, hydraulics, autonomy, physiology, a little chemistry and govern regulations There are an average of 40 pieces of equipment per patient that is used by the hospital if I'm thinking correctly There is a shortage and most people don't know about this occupation Comment from : @CharlesChesnut-n9f |

Nice to see RT and OTA make the list finally The numbers are a bit skewed though but thats expected Im an RT and my girlfriend is an OTA and our pay is swapped RT is hard to get an accurate number especially because covid really brought our field to light I started as a new grad RT about a year into covid I was given a $5 pay raise to my base rate after 1 month because my hospital readjusted the new grad rate by $5 an hour And now 25 years into the field, working in the same city I make $12 an hour on my base rate than what I was originally paid as a new grad Dont recommend RT though because respect in the field varies by hospital and state, some places were nebulizer jockies, other places we intubate, do procedures, and doctors actually ask us for our recommendations The field is finally starting to get some traction though, we even no have an Advance Practice Respiratory Therapist position that was created during Covid as a parallel to Nurse Practitioner Comment from : @cody1429 |

I was a male cna and I got paid around 17 an hour with benefits aswell and you could sign up for a double whenever there was a blank spot in the shift book I will say male nurses tend to get asked to do more because you mostly work with women and many residents are complete dependant and can weigh up to 200lbs You have to actually like helping, talking, and dealing with high stress environments Comment from : @GreasyTheGreat |

Hi Shane! I have an AA from right out of college, and now - years later I am earning an AS in Data Science because of a lot of reasons (10 years not working due to a serious illness that has been "transplanted out of my body and given a new part" ;) And I am now 51 But I am still seeing the requirement of a BS brSO, my question is - Do I really need to get BS in Data Science now? Or can I get a BS in something more related-Ish Psychology, English, Spanish etc Between my age and work history gap, I really need to get as many opportunities as possible that someone in my position can take advantage of And I really think a BS is the only route Am I wrong? My recommendation is to attempt to divine the long term demand of a given profession I too am a pharmacist and I have to go back in time more than 20 years to find a year I made less than I do now in nominal terms Prices have gone up about 70 since the year 2000 but my salary hasn’t really changed Had I known so many pharmacy schools were going to be built, I would have chosen a different profession Comment from : @jasoncarter4343 |

Hi Shane, I just recently found your channel as I’m a grade 11 student trying to decide which programs I should apply to next year, and I’ve found your videos very helpful I want to ask what the difference is between a bachelor of commerce versus a bachelor of business administration I’m more so wondering if I majored in let’s say, finance, and there are different finance programs that earn you a BBA and others that get you a BCOM, are one of those bachelors better or more prestigious? And what are the main differences between the content and career paths? Thanks Comment from : @ianarnott5693 |
