Why add "evolutionary past"? Why preach a belief system during scientific exploration? Whether we are created or evolved without a creator, has nothing to do with the observation It only serves to muddy the observation by creating a filtering lens which blocks out or adds to the thing being observed It is wise to use lenses but unwise to use the same lens all the time Science uses a variety of concepts and standpoints Real science does not exclude any supposed reasonable, or supposed unreasonable gauging system Why limit our study? The only reason the two halves compete for control is because they severed the main connection between the two halves making them unable to communicate properly brwhen a brain is connected properly and normally both halves work together to make up you as a person

For unsplit brains, I do not agree with your premise at 6:42, this "recombining step" you are referring to is just because both eyes even though attached to different hemispheres, have an overlapping field of view So the combination of visual stimulus already happens outside the brain Same goes for auditory, as well as olfactory organs So there is no such "recombination" happening INSIDE the brain, as it already happens outside and both hemispheres receive part of the stimulus from organs attached to the other hemisphere

I understand the science of the split brain I've studied it before, but I disagree that it leads to the conclusion that there are multiple persons within you That is not what it is indicating Otherwise they wouldn't try and make up stories to make themselves agreeable to each other You never get somebody who says it must not have been a hammer that I saw It must have been a saw that I saw That is conclusive more to the fact that we are unified in our overall thought process and that it is only the communication between the hemispheres that has been interrupted that causes a glitch in that natural system of Oneness, not a natural system of Multiplicity

The mind may be viewed to be constituted by five basic components: manas, ahamkara, citta, buddhi and atman The "integrating" consciousness that integrates different parts which agreed or disagreed , into one "I" is called "ahamkara" (ego or Id) It's well described in Hindu upanishads 5000 years ago (in Sanskrit)

Actually if you understand AI you would know that there are competing separate algorithms running simultaneously (equavalent to several "you" that was described in this video) and the most appropriate algorithm "takes control" or becomes dominant, based on the environment that has to be dealth with!
