I’m a CMA making 25 and some change but the burnout and rude patients is surreal nowadays, been an MA going on 15 years now looking for a change! Healthcare just not the same any more smh

Prior medical assistant here , in VA we get paid so little that you’d be better off waiting tables The amount of work load is surreal for the amount we get paid 2 years working an MA position I finally quit, currently in my last semester In my RN program

That’s why their are schools that you won’t have to take prerequisites you can be some a LPN bt you have to search them up They are private schools all you need is 3 references and a essay explaining the reason and passion about being a nurse

$21 is terrible I want to become an MA but thats a pay drop I make $36 working remote literally home all day on my computer Healthcare workers definitely deserve to get paid a lot more

I don’t know why people are complaining at $19 start, that’s 36k a year You get an increase every year Save money, don’t buy unnecessary things Also, the workload is not as tough as a nurse and you will be helping people

Please dont let anyone talk you out of your dreams, MA's can do so much The experince, and opportunites that comes your way are amazing MA's can even travel now Experience is a factor and certifications Becoming a instructor, tutor, ect are all other things you can do with your skills There is soo much more to being an MA than most people think There is an amazing, info pack ebook that im halfway through that is more useful than anything Ive found online I'll post the link to the book if i dont forget when i get home haha Good luck yall!

I enjoy being a CCMA There is room to grow In Texas for sure after 3-4yrs of experience you can work at a college to be a Medical Assistant Instructor, or move up in clinic to be a Lead Medical Assistant (LMA), work as a Travel Drug Rep etc I've heard plenty of MAs discuss their pay and make more than some LVNs So it's definitely comes down to being knowledgeable, certification, and having a AAS/BA along with it I went to an accredited college and I'm glad I did and got certification and Associates in applied science It helped my pay tremendously I'm definitely not going back to school for nursing I've done the LVN/RN job and even trained some in clinic I've moved up in specialty several times too I'm now a MA Instructor at college and transitioning to clinic to be a Lead Medical Assistant (LMA) There's definitely growth in the field and money if you are determined, assertive, patient, and open to learning I enjoy being a CCMA 😊
