I love Khan academy but I have to mention a glaring item not mentioned because it leads to misinterpretations by students and in turn becomes prevalent in adult perspectives NAZI stands for "National Socialist German Workers' Party" in the video they are simply called "Nationalists" but it is important to understand they were socialists It is therefore easy to think, since it was mentioned they countered the communists, that they are on polar ends of the political spectrum The real difference is that the nazis were for national gov't control by the workers and communists were for the workers party across national lines (international as stated in the communist manifesto "workers of the world unite") The communists were their biggest political threat to power (there wasn't a strong group for less gov't control)brThe 1910's through 30's saw a heavy increase in centralized gov't control across most countries with different spin-offs and varying degrees Some were simply exchanging one form of control for another (monarchy to communism, etc) Whatever the case, central gov't played a bigger role in more people's lives, Comment from : @4Liberty4Justice4All |
