It was such an enlightening lecture It was an honour to listen to Dr Bopearachchi live right after his lecture on iconography As somebody who hasn't explored coinage that much, to say the lecture opened up so many dimension for me would be an understatement I have always been fascinated by Indo Greeks and the way Sir proceeded with the lecture only fuelled my interest into their history I was intrigued with how the lecture covered all the aspects of Indo- Greek coinage in its entirety The information presented by Sir not only taught me about the topic itself but also how to assess different topics like these as a researcher brI cannot thank you enough Sir for this lecture and also, Speaking Archaeologically and Shriya Ma'am for organising this I will eagerly wait for the next session which will be held very soon

It was really a very enriching talk I think I can't describe through words how much I have gathered from this one talk, and it will take me some time to imbibe all of this I thought I knew much about the Indo-Greek coins, but after this session, it all turned out to be the tip of an iceberg I have always been thinking about the future scope of research in this field, due to various factors: be it the volatile political situation, or the problem of lack of archaeological contexts and illicit trade in hoards But interacting with someone who has actually been at these places and findspots for many years of his life, and is so dedicated to teading out as accurate a narrative as possible, I was really inspired and humbledbrbrSuch a thoroughly knowledgeable and immensely humble person that Dr Bopearachchi is, I cannot thank enough for having met him and also on the prospect of getting to hear him one more time next week I do have a lot many questions to ask him, but yes, I will hold on to those for the next session and future!

The lecture was wonderfully detailed It gave a very good background for understanding the Indo-Greek coinage in a holistic way Different aspects of archaeology were mentioned in the lecture for understanding numismatics including geography and iconography which is amazing Thank you Prof Bopearachchi and Speaking Archaeologically for such an incredible lecture !

I was so caught by the whole lecture and the way so patiently sir explained all the different aspects related to coinage was really fascinating I have taken so much from this lecture and I am eagerly looking forward for next talk to see what next sir has in store for us!

First of all, I cannot believe my sheer luck to have been able to listen to Prof Bopearachchi again so soon! Furthermore, I was absolutely blown away with this lecture! Sir covered each and every aspect that is important in studying coins as an archaeological source so well The talk was so concise, lucid and yet so rich in content For someone like me who has had little experience in terms of studying coinage, sir's lecture really made me think about this field in a variety of perspectives I really loved that we not just talked about the research part but also the problems that come along with carrying out such research especially if our area of study is a difficult region to access I learnt so much from you sir in terms of both how to go about researching and exploring new avenues in Indo Greek coinage as well as the ethical manner in which a researcher should proceed The Q/A of course gave me the honour to interact with sir and further enrich my understanding of Indo Greek coinage I really cannot wait for the next lecture in this series soon!

This is such a thought provoking lecture! It is an honour to listen to Prof Bopearachchi talk about the context of the Indo Greek coins I really liked how to understand the coinage, Sir explored and emphasised the geography, the archaeology as well as the epigraphy of the area under study It has given me so much insight on how to approach the study of coins Looking forward to the next lecture!
